Life Lesson – The Press

It’s times like these – when an innocent elderly lady gets murdered in her own back garden that you see the impersonal and rushed reaction of the press.

Sadly yesterday an 82 year old woman was beheaded by a man wielding a machete. Yet hours after the attack took place, journalists and photographers were already on scene trying to get pictures and statements from shocked relatives at their local cafe.

Sometimes the urgency of news and the rush to get the story first fizzles any notion of emotion.

I’m happy to say that after three years of living in a small town by the sea, my days at university have now come to an end. I have finally completed a degree in communications!
